PB 상품, 유통사도 제조사도 웃는다

고물가 시대, 유통업계가 자체 브랜드(PB)에서 높은 매출을 내고 있다. 가성비를 앞세운 PB 상품뿐 아니라 최근에는 프리미엄 제품도 주목받고 있으며 차별화된 서비스로 인기를 끄는 제품도 있다.

다양해지는 PB

롯데마트, 홈플러스, 이마트 등 유통 대기업들이 선보인 PB는 전년 대비 매출이 모두 오른 상태다. 최근 PB 상품들은 세분화된 마케팅을 통해 소비층을 공략하고 있다. 30대 워킹맘을 타겟으로 새로운 브랜드를 선보이거나 고급화 마케팅을 위해 호텔 출신 셰프나 바리스타를 내세워 협업하는 식이 대부분이다. 이커머스 기업들은 자사 배송 시스템을 활용한 PB 상품을 내놓고 있다. 예컨대 쿠팡의 경우 PB 식용얼음을선보여 새벽배송을 시작했고 가정용 시장에서 1위에 오르는 기염을 토했다.

제조사, 유통사 모두 윈윈하는 구조

이러한 PB 상품의 증가세는 제조사와 유통업계 간 상생구조가 잘 맞아떨어졌기 때문이라 할 수 있따. 중소기업은 판로 개척과 더불어 재고 부담을 덜 수 있고 유통사는 직매입을 통해 마진율을 높일 수 있다는 것이다. 일반 상품과 비교해 마진율은 5~10% 정도 더 높은 것으로 알려졌다. 대형 유통기업들이 PB 시장을 주도하고 있어 소비자들의 상품 만족도도 높은 편이다. 업계는 PB 상품의 비율이 앞으로도 더 높아질 것으로 전망하고 있다.
