근속, 연공, 역량 수준 및 직무에 근거한 사원, 대리, 과장, 차장, 부장 등 기존 직급체계가 최근 간소화되거나 호칭을 단일화하는 추세다. 이름 뒤 님을 붙이거나 프로, 매니저 등을 사용하는 것이다.
수평적 조직 문화를 위해
삼성전자에서 최근 수평호칭을 경영진과 임원으로 확대했다. 삼성전자는 2016년부터 직급을 7단계에서 4단계로 단순화했다. 또한 영문이름이나 영문명 이니셜을 사용하거나 한글 이름 뒤 님을 붙이는 상호 수평적 호칭을 사용했다. 직원들 간 호칭 사용 문화가 정착되자 이를 경영진과 임원까지 확대한 것이다.
KT&G는 올해 2월부터 프로라는 호칭을 사용하고 있다. SK텔레콤은 과거 임원을 제외한 모든 직원 간 호칭을 매니저로 바꿨다가 2018년에는 님으로 통일했다. CJ그룹은 이 분야에서 가장 앞서나간 기업이다. 2000년부터 님을 사용했다. 임직원들은 공식 석상에서도 회장을 이재현님으로 호칭한다. CEO들도 계급장을 떼는 추세다. 김준 SK이노베이션 부회장은 쭌선배라는 호칭을 자처하기도 했으며 카카오 김범수 창업자는 브라이언이라는 이름을 쓰는 것으로 유명하다.
