농산물 코너의 모습이 바뀌고 있다. 고물가 상황이 계속되면서 B급 농산물, 이른바 못난이 농산물이 인기를 끌고 있기 때문이다. 재배과정에서 흠집이 나거나 모양이 일정하지 않아 상품성이 떨어지지만 맛은 큰 차이가 없어 생활비를 아끼고자하는 소비자들이 많이 찾고 있다.
농산물 가격 급상승에 못난이 농산물 각광
한국농수산식품유통공사에 따르면 현재 배추 1포기 소매가는 8987원으로 지난해와 비교해 63% 올랐다. 이외에도 무, 당근 등 채소들의 가격이 폭등했다. 채소 가격이 뜀과 동시에 라면도 가격이 올라 밥상 물가에 대한 부담감이 커지고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 소비자들은 B급 농산물에 관심을 가지는 추세다. 유통업계는 못난이 제품들을 늘리고 있다. 일반 상품보다 20~30% 가량 저렴한 가격으로 판매 중이다. 한 이커머스 플랫폼에서는 B급 농산물 브랜드의 거래액이 1년 만에 7배 이상 급증했다고 알려졌다. 고물가로 물가 상승에 대한 우려가 커지고 있는 가운데 정부 역시 가격 인상을 자제해달라는 메세지를 보내고 있어 B급 농산물에 대한 인기는 더욱 커질 것으로 전망된다.
